About Prism Physics

Prism Physics is a free collection of interactive physics lessons for students preparing for JEE, NEET, AP Physics or A-levels, and for anyone taking a first university course in physics. Our aim is simple: every idea should come with a picture you can play with.

How a lesson is built

  • One concept at a time. Each lesson opens with the idea in plain language, then derives the formulas rather than stating them.
  • Interactive figures. Graphs, vectors and simulations respond as you drag and slide, so you can test what each symbol actually does.
  • Worked examples and quizzes. Solutions reveal one step at a time, and every quiz answer explains why it is right or wrong.
  • Further reading. Each lesson links verified videos, simulations and texts from 3Blue1Brown, PhET (CU Boulder), MIT OpenCourseWare, OpenStax, Khan Academy, The Physics Classroom, HyperPhysics and the Feynman Lectures. We re-check every link regularly.

Syllabus

Chapters follow the order used by most classic Indian and international textbooks, in seven topics: mechanics (starting with the mathematical toolkit), waves and sound, light and optics, heat and thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism and electromagnetism, and modern physics, ending with the nucleus and special relativity. All explanations, examples, problems and figures on this site are original. Prism Physics is independent and is not affiliated with any textbook author or publisher.

Accuracy

Every lesson shows the date it was last updated. Numerical examples are recomputed when written, and interactive figures are driven by the same equations shown in the text. If you spot a mistake, we want to know.
